Chameleon Basin
The Turf Drain Chameleon basin is a novel basin originally designed for use on baseball fields to quickly drain surface water without interfering with play. The Chameleon Basin is placed below grade and has a grass top during normal weather conditions. When rain causes standing water, the grass top is removed and surface water is quickly drained, so play can resume. On golf courses, it can be used in high profile areas, such as tees or greens approaches, or areas that are visible on TV during tournament play. The basins have a temporary top that can be inserted for weeks at a time when prolonged rain periods make drainage more important than aesthetics.
